The opportunity:

Lead all aspects of the Procurement function for the designated region primarily focusing Procurement Operations for supplies, spare parts, and all direct or indirect services. Actively participate in or lead assigned category sourcing teams responsible for sourcing and contracting for assigned categories of spend for the enterprise. While this position is primarily focused on management of operational procurement activities, the primary objective is to provide the lowest total costs for all purchased products and services across the eastern half of North America. * Assure uninterrupted and timely flow of purchased products and services; * Reduce the price of purchased products and services; * Reduce Total Acquisition Costs (TAC); and * Assure internal policy, practice, and strategy compliance and external compliance with regulatory requirements.

How you will impact WestRock:

* Provide personnel management to all associates directly supported, including developing annual performance goals and assuring goals and plans are cascaded in performance plans. Assist with training for the development of team's professional competence. * Recommend/develop Procurement goals and implement such to ensure their success. * Develop forecasts of significant factors related to assigned areas which may impact company spend. Integrating forecasted data into inventory management to further enhance the company's competitive advantage. * Represent eastern region locations/facilities on diverse or complex Procurement projects, programs or issues requiring coordinated activities across organizational lines. * Model relevant financial and economic pricing information and understand the impacts on spend and cost to the business; develop internal cost baselines and compare to alternatives such as make vs. buy, inventory approach. * Perform cost/price analysis and value with total cost of ownership as objective and input into category strategies; identify, negotiate, and implement cost


What you need to succeed:

* 10+ years Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment. * Ability to comprehend and apply Strategic Procurement and Materials Management principles, policies, concepts, standards, and procedures, including price analysis, negotiations, ethics, and purchasing law. * Experience with conducting complex analysis projects. Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment. Must demonstrate a degree of individual initiative. * Knowledge of procurement arrangements including ERS, JIT, Consignment, Supplier Managed Inventory, E-Catalog, E-Procurement, E-Sourcing, etc. * Ability to manage through ambiguity and lead change. * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, capability of processing information quickly and accurately. * Materials planning and reporting, demand forecasting, product and materials; maintain optimal inventory levels; proficient in MRP. * Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, and maintenance of confidentiality of information. * Ability to establish and maintain working relations with peers, internal partners, clients, and suppliers. * Proficient in MS Office applications including, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. * Hands on experience working with a computerized procurement system (ERP), preferably Avantis and/or AX. * E-Procurement technology; inventory and capital equipment tracking systems; product specifications database.
