Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Experienced Fork Truck Operator)
Kimball / Jasper (Chattanooga Area)

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk position is responsible for efficiently handling materials coming from manufacturing and outside suppliers that are being processed into our facility and being sent to our customers.
Primary objectives and responsibilities:
Be proficient and knowledgeable about safely operating an electric pallet jack, stand-up reach truck, clamp truck and sit-down swing reach truck.
Complete a daily safety/maintenance checklist on the material handling equipment at the beginning of each shift. Ensure all safety equipment and devices are in place and working properly.
Safely operate all material handling equipment within the plant to prevent damage or personal injury.
Unload inbound trucks, warehouse materials, supply production lines, and load outbound shipments.
Utilize safety precautions and guidelines to ensure each trailer is safe to load/unload.
Properly unitize and mark materials.
Load various pallets to maximize trailer utilization while minimizing transit damage.
Match content and packing slips for accurate receipting of inbound materials in system.
Complete paperwork associated with the movement of materials with accuracy and efficiency.
Will use an RF Scanner to load, unload, and move items within the facility.
Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a team approach.
Responsible for the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Communicates with other departments as appropriate and provide updates to supervisor on issues related to deliveries and shipments.
Overtime is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have at least two years forklift experience and have proficient math skills. Experience with scanners is a plus.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED minimum.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
