Strategic Sourcing Manager, Corporate Services Procurement - Atlanta, GA

CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

WestRock is seeking an experienced and influential Strategic Sourcing Manager to be part of our Corporate Services Procurement team located at our Atlanta, GA corporate office. This Strategic Sourcing Manager will have the responsibility for leading cross-functional project teams through the sourcing and procurement process within the categories of professional services and technology, supporting key functional groups such as Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Finance and Accounting.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:         

  • Partner with executive stakeholders, process owners and functional subject matter experts to develop and execute global sourcing strategies aligned with defined goals and objectives.
  • Develop global category plans based on current market conditions and the business environment.
  • Articulate and gain alignment from senior managers/executives on the implementation of the sourcing strategies.
  • Blueprint and lead negotiations to completion while pursuing full value and mitigating risk.
  • Analyze financials, market risk, and supplier risk while managing a project pipeline and forecasting productivity and results
  • Knowledge of favored positional legal and commercial terms with the ability to effectively negotiate and draft agreements.
  • Drive results through analytics, business acumen, personal leadership and developing business cases to support sourcing initiatives.
  • Consolidate spending and provide thought leadership to achieve organization outcomes while ensuring that WestRock’s policies and core values of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence are upheld and adhered to.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and influence with strategic vision to develop value-added opportunities that will generate cost savings, operational efficiencies, and overall efficiencies. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply-Chain, Procurement required
  • 5-7+ years job-related work experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement or outside sales
  • Excellent communication, project management and relationship building skills
  • Experience creating and managing projects and sourcing events
  • Experience preparing and presenting to leadership stakeholders and end-users
  • High degree of judgment and ingenuity required in dealing with complex factors
  • Experience in Corporate Procurement in the HR, Communications, Marketing and/or Finance categories is a plus
  • Aptitude for tracking external market trends and the ability to quickly source current data, bench-marking and industry opinions for a variety of vendors
  • Data analysis skills and proficiency in MS Excel 2007 and/or 2010; able to analyze large datasets, able to convert raw data into usable, presentable information
  • Communication:  Must be proficient in PowerPoint; individual should be comfortable giving presentations (both live and via WebEx) to large groups and senior leaders
  • Project Management:  Individual must be able to manage a project, timeline, and resources; individual must be able to own a project in which other people contribute
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with MS Office
  • A customer-centric mindset, and a willingness to manage transactional tasks as a means of developing a strong trust and appreciation with stakeholders.
