Strategic Analyst

The opportunity:

This position will provide leadership and management across the Corrugated Supply Chain Organization for implementation of strategic objectives and major initiatives related to network improvement and optimization, and support future acquisition analysis and subsequent integration into our existing network. Strategic Analyst will utilize the Strategic Sourcing Model (SSM) to regularly review internal and external customer sourcing across the network, identifying sourcing opportunities to improve cost and drive implementation of approved changes. This position will help lead and manage the Supply Chain strategy deployment (Hoshin) process including the tracking of the business results.

* Utilize Strategic Sourcing Model (SSM) to identify and drive network business improvements * Lead, manage and track impact Hoshin Strategy Deployment process * Lead projects to implement strategy and other major initiatives * Evaluate potential future business acquisitions * Lead activities to integrate acquired businesses into our network


What you need to succeed:

* Bachelor's degree with emphasis in one of the following: Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management * Graduate degree preferred * 1 - 3 years in Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Analytics preferred * 1- 2 years of experience conducting and performing data modeling, data mining exercises, reporting metrics, and producing reports to senior leadership * Strong knowledge of industry trends and best practices * Experience / understanding of transportation and warehousing terminology, processes, and measures (i.e. dedicated fleets, common carrier truckload, intermodal, rail, LTL, cross docks, distribution centers, etc.) * Superior Excel skills including the ability to easily read and interpret data through data mining * Ability to write and update existing queries, develop/import data from external sources * Knowledge of SQL and OTM a plus * Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint * Experience with developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operations and financial objectives * Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools * Ability to decipher a model and then manipulate model to obtain different results based on modifying the inputs * Possess the analytic skill required to analyze, manage and work with large amounts of complex data * Attention to detail and ability to think "outside the box" * Ability to deal effectively with pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines and rapidly changing priorities * Good interpersonal skills to apply in communication with business partners, field operations and Sr. Leadership * Strong communication skills to inform and educate others on complex concepts and ideas, simply and concisely, to broad audiences verbally and via e-mail or presentations * Drive change/continuous improvement * Self-Starter/highly motivated * Up to 20% travel * Occasional weekend work required (financial reporting, system cutovers, testing etc.)
