Opportunity summary: As a Mechanical Packaging Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for increasing sales and developing accounts within your territories by building customer relationships and partnering with the WestRock sales team. We are looking for someone to serve as the expert of WestRock’s mechanical packaging solutions and grow differentiated solutions that drive high impact to customers.

How you will impact WestRock

·       Manage sales pipeline utilizing Salesforce applications to generate sales leads and track existing opportunities

·       Create sales plan utilizing 30-60-90-day program to track sales targets and close out projects

·       Develop accounts by generating sales leads and uncovering new opportunities within the customer’s existing portfolio for additional WestRock solutions

·       Evaluate new customer equipment specifications to assure the proposal will meet the business and customer needs

·       Evaluate new customer equipment specifications to assure the proposal will meet the business and customer needs

·       Serve as a trusted advisor to customer demonstrating a deep understanding of their business and ability to identify innovative solutions that reduce their operational cost and increase production efficiency

·       Partner with Corrugated Sales Representatives in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing differentiated WestRock product solutions that meet specific customer needs

·       Conduct account management activities to maintain customer relationships, such as providing maintenance support for equipment and resolving customer issues

·       Consult with back-shop and top-shop customers to facilitate customer contracts for multi-line capital equipment and communicate multiple financing program options

What you need to succeed:

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       4 to 5 years of experience in technical/ packaging equipment sales

·       Possess a broad understanding of different types of equipment, and technical and packaging capabilities related to the packaging industry

·       Proven experience with mechanical packaging systems and Salesforce CRM software

·       Working knowledge of end of line technical equipment (case packing, palletizing) and complex packaging solutions/designs

·       Demonstrated sales competence and business acumen

·       Ability to provide clarity to complex problems and develop long-term solutions

·       Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines and interact effectively with people from varying functions and levels

·       Possess effective leadership qualities and insightful business judgment

·       Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Champion of and adapter to change

·       Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills 

·       Possess safety mindset
