Merchandising Displays Division

The model maker position creates models, patterns and prototypes using a variety of methods and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  •  Use computer generated geometry, renderings, blue prints and schematics to produce models, patterns and molds; build displays and or parts that are dimensionally within tolerance, clean  and effective
  •  Match custom colors and use painting system 
  • Perform machining tasks, including setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment.
  •  Create general assembly fixtures
  •  Perform welding, cutting, bending and general metal fabrication tasks
  •  Operate small vacuum formers to produce samples and limited production parts
  •  Perform acrylic fabrication tasks, including routing, bending, gluing, assembling and polishing
  •  Use table saw, band saw, disc and spindle sander, and jointer to perform woodworking and plastic fabrication tasks
  •  Comply with OSHA and WestRock safety regulations and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED minimum and four(4) years industry experience. 
The Model Maker position requires a good understanding of design and construction methods, and a working knowledge of model shop machines and tools such as table saw, band saw, disc and spindle sander, jointer, drill press and milling machine.  The position further requires the ability to read blue prints, and to perform woodworking, plastic fabricating and machine shop tasks. Schedule flexibility is required for both overtime situations and to travel if needed.
