The Comco (B) Pressman position is responsible for press operation satisfying Safety, Quality and Productivity along with or in the absence of the (A) Operator. This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.
How you will impact WestRock
Reads and understands work schedule to determine the next order for production.
Reviews the instructions in the “Order Instructions Display Program” for customer specifications and special instructions.
Perform all Make-Readies in a timely manner as outline within the Comco Six Sigma make-ready reduction project.
Maintain the high levels of quality expected by our customer base.
Troubleshoot and fix all non-conformity issues as a result of daily operation.
Maintain sufficient ink levels in all decks.
Train under the (A) Operator as well as assisting during make-readies and other processes.
Assists in performing line clearance upon completion of each job.
Using “Materials Allocation Form”, locates and identifies the correct board rolls to be used for any given job running on the Comco as needed.
Check board caliper against “Material Allocation Form” for compliance with board specification.
Transport and safely hang board rolls onto unwind spindles of roll station.
Keep roll station and press area clean and free of tripping hazards.
Accurate entering of any job related information into “Shop Floor Data Collection” system or “Work Log Books”.
Collating and neatly stacking of cartons onto WIP pallets.
Performs other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.
Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPE’s to perform duties.
This position will help maintain all 5S and SQF guidelines, and immediately report any food safety concerns to management.
