We have an opportunity in Greenville, TX, for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to spearhead overall plant efficiency across all departments.
How you will impact WestRock:
Help develop safety rules, procedures, and proactive measures to ensure a safe working environment.
Hold employees accountable for working within the rules and proactively identifying and removing hazards.
Report any and all near misses, incidents, first aid rendered, or unsafe working conditions to the Plant Manager and Safety Manager immediately without exception.
Responsible for the safety and well-being of self and employees.
Serve as site Performance Excellence (PE) leader
Identify training needs/gaps
Provide coaching to the individuals/teams as necessary
Guide pillar teams and steering committee
Train teams to utilize lean six sigma tools and methodology
Provide and share foundational best-practices
Execute Lean Six Sigma projects to deliver hard cost savings
Responsible for sustaining the PE Pillar system
Drive engagement in PE activities
Perform audits and assessments for the evaluation of PE performance and consistency
Helps the plant to achieve its waste reduction goal
Responsible for managing green and yellow belts for on time completion of lean six sigma projects
Coach/mentor belts and CI pillar teams to achieve savings goals
Initiate and drive continuous improvement across all levels of the organization
Backup Plant Manager
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other relevant continuous improvement work experience
Willing to attain certification in Lean Six Sigma improvement
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, CAD, Adobe)
Able to independently manage various projects as required
