The Pulp Mill Superintendent directs and leads the production operations of the Pulp Mill at the Florence Mill. This position is responsible for creating a safe work environment, executing, and continuously improving the quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost of the operation. The Pulp Mill Superintendent reports to the Fiber and Utilities Superintendent of the Mill.
How you will impact WestRock:
Provide leadership to the Fiber areas of the Mill (Pulp, Woodyard, Recycle, and Caustic Plant)
Ensure that objectives are set that meet the goals of the business
Monitor Key Performance Indicator trends
Oversee the implementation of corrective actions to ensure goals are met
Manage in a goal-oriented systematic environment to deliver target results in the areas of safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.
Set expectations and hold both teams and individuals accountable for results
Responsibilities include daily management of the operations
Forward looking capital planning and equipment commissioning
Provide support to the Pulp Mill Operations Maintenance Coordinator to ensure operational and maintenance activities are scheduled, coordinated, and executed to drive process and equipment reliability.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably within the paperboard industry pulping operations.
- Supervisory or management experience required.
