Directly responsible for supervising Chemical Recovery/Re-causticizing/Tall Oil Plant operations to meet safety, environmental, quality and production goals.
How you will impact WestRock:
Ensures Performance Excellence in the operating area through on the job coaching, incident review, and requiring personal accountability.
Ensures continual improvement of Lock-Out Tag-Out Try in the operating area through on the job coaching, incident review, and requiring personal accountability.
Promotes a safe, positive attitude and work environment amongst his/her crew; will also plan and conduct monthly safety meetings and related OSHA training
Enforce Labor Agreement and Company Policy consistently
Monitor status of equipment, plans work assignments and processes and initiates work requests for maintenance
Train and monitor crew and evaluate probationary employees; provides assistance to crew when needed.
Communicate up and down on quality, production issues, etc.
Works with other Area Tour/shift Supervisors to manage process in an economical manner to benefit entire mill
Work "southern swing" rotating shifts
Responsible for training and certification of hourly workers on his/her crew.
Responsible for managing handling of raw material unloading A and byproduct loading while meeting full compliance with WestRock, FRA, and DOT rules and regulations.
What you need to succeed:
Technical Degree in related field or minimum five years mill * experience
Hourly applicants must have completed (or be attending) Pre-Supervisory Training
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be motivated and dedicated to working long hours when conditions require
Proficiency with PC and Microsoft office suite require
Must possess the leadership capabilities to drive change in methods, practices, expectations, and accountability
Individual traits must include disciplined, aggressive, and self-confident approach toward addressing issues, and must be goal oriented
