The Performance Excellence System Practitioner role is designed to coach and guide the implementation of the Performance Excellence System (PES) which is a Lean Six Sigma deployment into the WestRock organization. This role is the direct conduit between the tactical/operational and strategic initiatives in the Beverage division. This position requires a leader who facilitates and drives change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Key to success in this position is the ability to work within and across the organization at all levels creating value and buy-in as the key change facilitator for the Performance Excellence System deployment.
WestRock corporate office is located in Atlanta, GA. This position could be based in Atlanta or remotely, but the employee must live close to a major metropolitan airport.
This role will require 80% travel and may require relocation.
How you will impact WestRock:
The PES Practitioner role is responsible for the deployment and ongoing sustainment of the PES Pillar system across the division. In addition, the Practitioner is responsible for the training/coaching of Performance Excellence Leaders at the local plant level. The Practitioner will also support and execute kaizens and LSS projects to meet division/region/plant savings goals.
This position will be focused on driving improvements in revenue and driving cost out of the business through more effective processes, elimination of non-value added or duplicate efforts, waste and other related defects in the process.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Align with strategic objectives for the Division/Region/Plant and Execute PES to accomplish them
Perform education to pillar teams and steering committee
Train teams to utilize lean six sigma tools and methodology
Serve as multi-site implementation leader
Serve as multi-site sustainment leader
Provide and share foundational best-practices
Ensure alignment to the system across plants
Identify opportunities to improve processes to support Division/Region/Plant goals
Support and execute kaizens and LSS projects to deliver hard cost savings
Travel required 80%
What you need to succeed:
This position will act as a change agent to instill Lean Six Sigma culture and principles and ensure they are utilized consistently throughout the organization.
Exceptional knowledge and skill in Continuous Improvement
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required
Coaching and communications skills
Strong leadership abilities
Strategic Planning and Execution
Professional maturity – work with all levels
4 year degree required, Technical Degree preferred (Engineering, Finance, Etc)
Performance Excellence System Pillar training provided
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Required
Minimum 10 years of manufacturing / operations experience
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing Continuous Improvement experience
Preferred similar experience in Lean Operating Systems
Prefer leadership of deployment of Lean Operating Systems
Packaging experience preferred
Lean deployment experience in continuous manufacturing within packaging industry a plus
