Career Opportunity:

Supporting the WestRock Strategic Capital Planning organization, the engineer will support division technical staff and plants worldwide in sharing production, engineering, cost information to improve capital spending effectiveness.  This position will preferably be based out of our Atlanta, North Park office, but we are open to other locations for the ideal candidate. 


         How You will impact WestRock:

  • Communicates data regarding capital converting spend on a monthly basis.

  • Develops applications for sharing data across all capital converting spending.

  • Compares productivity and costs across worldwide network of converting equipment.

  • Streamlines data and data reporting from Radius, AS400 and other information streams to compare data on a similar basis of OEE.

  • Maintains SharePoint site data for resources and video access.

  • Supports engineers and plants worldwide to insure that we share best practices information.

  • Works on specific projects across divisions to reduce costs.

  • Collects data and presents in a format for management to support strategic capital decision making


    What You need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline such as industrial/mechanical engineering or similar

  • 1-2+ years of practical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to communicate well via conference call.

  • Ability to adapt to many different plant and division cultures.

  • Ability to communicate worldwide with flexibility in work hours.

  • Basic technical and manufacturing understanding of printing/die cutting/paper converting.

  • Project management skills.

  • Data mining and analytical skills.

  • Ability communicate analytically based recommendations to leadership.
