The Performance Excellence System Leader role is designed to coach and guide the implementation of the Performance Excellence System (PES). This role is the direct conduit between the tactical/operational and strategic initiatives in the organization.
This position requires a leader that is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal and influencing skills.  The PES Leader role is at a level of a Plant Superintendent/Plant Production Manager. 
Key to success in this position is the ability to work within and across the plant at all levels creating value and buy-in as the key change facilitator for the Performance Excellence System deployment.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Align with strategic objectives for the Division/Region/Plant and Execute PES to accomplish them
Perform education to pillar and steering team
Train teams to utilize Performance Excellence System and lean six sigma tools and methodology
Serve as site lead for PES implementation and sustainment
Provide and share foundational best-practices
Ensure that process changes become part of the DMS (Daily Management System)
Work with Practitioners to ensure alignment to the system across plants
Coach/mentor Yellow/Green belts and pillar teams to achieve savings goals
Execute Performance Excellence projects to deliver hard cost savings
The PES Leader role is responsible for the deployment and ongoing sustainment of the PES Pillar system at the plant and helping to build a culture of continuous improvement. In addition, the Leader is responsible for the training/coaching of Pillar Leaders and the Steering team at the plant.  The PES Leader may also execute Performance Excellence projects to meet plant savings goals. 
This position will be focused on driving improvements in revenue and driving cost out of the business through more effective processes, elimination of non-value added or duplicate efforts, waste and other related defects in the process.
Specific duties include:
Coach and assist plant in their Zero Loss Thinking and Analysis
Provide education related to PES to the teams as needed
Provide on-site coaching to the individuals/teams as necessary
Perform audits and assessments for the evaluation of PES results and consistency across the plant and work with PES Practitioner to ensure consistency across division
Work closely with all functional areas of the plant to understand needs and implement changes
Communicate progress and challenges to PES Practitioner for support and guidance
Identify training needs/gaps prior to and during the implementation
Assist in the alignment of key resources to include engineering and other resources to ensure that we are working on the right priorities
Develop, track and report local progress and key metrics for the facility
Report progress and provide recommendations to the plant steering team
Raising issues that need addressed
Coach/mentor belts and CI pillar teams to achieve savings goals
Execute LSS Belt Projects to meet plant savings objectives
This position will implement the PES system to instill lean culture and principles and ensure they are utilized consistently throughout the plant/organization.

4 year degree desired but not required, Engineering Preferred
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred
Basic Performance Excellence System training – additional PES Leader training will be provided
Lean Six Sigma Belt Training/Certification Preferred
Minimum 5-7 years of Continuous Improvement experience
Preferred experience with the Performance Excellence System and/or similar experience in Lean-based Operating Systems
Preferred experience with Daily Management System (DMS) or similar
Other Requirements
Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of arms and legs, moving body, such as lifting up to 25 pounds frequently, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials as necessary.
