This production supervisor position is responsible for the
production activities and unionized staff on the assigned rotating shift (Day, afternoon and midnight)
How will you impact WestRock:
Coordinate and direct production work flow; ensure
quality standards, production efficiencies and timely completion of work
orders are met
Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to
production, and quality issues; maintain a physical presence in the plant
Direct supervision of the shift’s manufacturing staff.
Evaluate and review hourly employee performance
Ensure training of shift’s production personnel; update
and maintain training documentation
Review daily production reports
Issue work orders to maintenance; ensure that
preventative maintenance is being performed as needed
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental
rules and regulations; create and maintain a safe and secure work
Interact with various departments and personnel,
including other shift team leaders, and set-up teams, to assure production requirements are met
Assist with development and maintenance of cost
effective efficiency and quality improvements
Assist Management in executing operating strategies and
plans, and achieving company goals and objectives
What you need to succeed:
A minimum high school
diploma or GED
A minimum of 5 years’
supervisory experience in corrugated industry and experience in the operation of the
same or similar equipment.
Ability to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. May require the
ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively
before groups of customers or employees of organization
to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common
