The Opportunity:


The Paper Machine Shift Operations Manager for Paper Mill, Stocks & Additives and Loading is the acting operating manager on shift for the Paper Machines and corresponding departments. He/she is responsible/accountable for the operation and maintenance of the Paper Machines during his/her shift. Duties also include ensuring that the the mill is optimized looking out a 7-10 day window. The Shift Operations Manager reports to the Assistant Paper Machine Superintendent. Shift Leads and Foremen will communicate through the Paper Machine Shift Operations Manager.


How You Will Impact WestRock:


  • Assure accountability is modeled at the frontline supervisor’s position through inspections, training and audits.

  • Assure the process is fully optimized using, operating guides and operating procedures that are rigorously followed and updated.

  • Assist trouble shooting technical problems on shift.

  • Manage the Paper Machine departments of the mill from a shift out through a 10 day window.

  • Support/reinforce root cause failure analysis and corrective actions (systems and people).

  • Manage safety and policies for the areas.


    What You Need to Succeed:


  • Must have a 4 year degree and or 5 years mill leadership experience.
  • Candidate must have supervisory experience in a Paper Mill environment
  • Must be able to clearly communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Currently would work a 12 hour rotating shift.
