Opportunity summary: As the Production Scheduler you will serve as the intermediary between elements of the supply chain and will be directly responsible for production schedules. You will orchestrate all supply chain efforts with logistics and customer service teams, creating and organizing the most efficient manufacturing schedules that maximize efficiency and productivity to meet customer requirements.
How you will impact WestRock:
Make production scheduling and transportation decisions with a high degree of autonomy
Communicate production and logistics decisions with cross-functional stakeholders as necessary to ensure alignment
Continuously identify innovative ways to improve trim efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize machine utilization
Assist with on-time shipments to customers by scheduling machines for production runs
Communicate regularly and effectively with manufacturing personnel to ensure production runs are sequenced to meet customer/company objectives
Balance competing needs, metrics (i.e., trim efficiency, shipment time, freight loading optimization) and goals to arrive at the optimal scheduling and logistics solution for all parties
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling reports to measure performance and identify solutions to optimize efficiency when appropriate
Work with Supply Chain to match forecasted demand to timely roll-stock supply
Coordinate effective roll-stock inventory management
Work with Shipping and Customer Service Departments to apply prior overruns to future orders
Optimize finished goods inventory replenishment processes for increase customer satisfaction at minimal cost
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business administration or related field
Experience with scheduling tools and supply chain software
Strong analytical skills to evaluate large amounts of data
Ability to make key decisions to resolve customer issues and deliver a solution
Possess effective communication skills to clearly convey priorities across different departments
APICS certification is preferred
