 The opportunity:

This role will work closely with the Employee Communications director and team on developing and executing strategic communications plans and content for our global employee population to generate awareness, understanding and engagement in major company programs and initiatives.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Drive employee engagement and continuously improve the employee experience by partnering with Employee Communications team members and other stakeholders to develop and deliver streamlined, effective internal communications.
  • Develop and execute a communications plan and relevant content with a goal of educating and engaging employees – providing quality materials, on time. 

    • Ability to create a thorough communications plan, identifying audiences and key messaging, along with the appropriate distribution channel and timing

    • Messaging can include newsletters, announcements, intranet articles, presentations, video scripts and other enterprise-wide initiatives. 

  • Manage the strategic delivery of employee communications using a variety of channels, including large distribution emails and intranet.

    • Proactively seek new methods, tools and channels to communicate, as well as new ways to more effectively use existing methods, tools and channels.

  • Advise leaders on strategic change management/communication plans for the introduction of new programs, benefits and services.

  • Partner with business and functional leaders to provide communication counsel and coaching to help engage employees in their strategy and priorities, as needed.

What you need to succeed:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 5+ years of corporate communications experience in developing and managing communication strategies.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems.

  • Strong organization and project management skills.

  • Dedicated to meeting the high expectations and requirements of internal customers.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Experience in web content management systems.

  • Experience working in a global environment with sensitivity to cross-cultural communications issues and opportunities.
