Maintenance Mechanic

 

WestRock is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Printing Press Operation in our Chicago location.  Pay range $50K - $56K (not including overtime).

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

 

Ø        5+ years’ experience as industrial maintenance mechanic in an industrial environment

Ø       Lock Out/Tag Out and/or NFPA 70E training a plus

Ø       Machining Experience with lathe, mill, grinder operations and hand tools

Ø       Mechanical Experience gearing, fasteners, hand tool usage and mechanical aptitude

Ø       Welding Experience – torch cutting / horizontal and vertical

Ø       Forklift experience

Ø       Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and ability to diagnose and solve problems

Ø       Flexo / Roto Press and Finishing print knowledge a plus

  

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Mechanical repair work and services in a safe, proficient manner on plant equipment and facility
  • Preventative maintenance – perform lubrication and inspection schedules for equipment
  • Troubleshooting equipment – identifying problems and developing a course of action to resolve
  • Project work – new installations, modifications to existing equipment
  • Communication with production – understanding the problems and needs of production
  • Assembly and repairs of small parts
  • Experience maintaining PM schedules
  • Have a strong emphasis on safety and exhibit good safety practices
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision
  • Must be able to resolve breakdown issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime
  • Must be able to maintain timelines for project schedules
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule (12-hours shifts), overtime, and weekends
  • Additional premium pay when working 12-hour operation at $0.75/hour and $0.30/hour when working evening shift
  • Additional premium pay when working 8-hour operation (2nd shift $0.25 / 3rd shift $0.32)
