Director, Corporate Security


The Opportunity

  • Provide effective professional leadership for WestRock’s global physical security function.

  • Establish and implement  effective security management and risk mitigation programs addressed to the protection of people, assets and trade secrets.

  • Develop, coordinate and manage executive personnel protection and event security.

  • Liaise with appropriate law enforcement, intelligence and threat assessment agencies to identify, quantify and assess security threats to operating facilities in order to provide proactive advice on suitable mitigation measures.


How you will impact WestRock

  • Collaborate with security counterparts at local facilities to lead and manage the global physical security program; ensure consistent, cost-effective implementation of best practices, policies, procedures and equipment.

  • Develop and monitor security programs including global traveler security measures, crisis management and business continuity plans. 

  • Support site compliance with Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism and other regulatory security requirements.

  • Lead Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) program; coordinate security audits at WestRock sites throughout the world. 

  • Engage with security providers, vendors and services to address and respond to workplace violence incidents and other security issues worldwide.

  • Conduct and support investigations into security incidents, misconduct, theft and fraud.

  • Liaise with external security organizations to stay abreast of current security trends, patterns and solutions.


What you need to success:

  • Must be a security professional with corporate security experience or the equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a corporate or government environment. 

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Certified Protection Professional certification desirable.  

  • Federal law enforcement and international experience preferred. 

  • Must have strong interpersonal, exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively within a multi-national, multicultural, setting. 

  • Ability to influence, build strong relationships/networks, effectively manage vendor relationships.

  • Must be highly motivated, reliable; brings energy, collaboration, teamwork, a "can do" flexible attitude, and a desire to work.

  • Professional/balanced demeanor; capable of interfacing/ influencing senior business leaders, staff, contractors, other security professionals and external stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of implementing/managing security initiatives in a multi-country environment and across business lines/groups.

  • Ability to analyze, examine and isolate key points and subtle issues. 

  • Must be able to develop/nurture concepts into pragmatic, efficient and effective solutions. 

  • Ability to establish credibility as a business partner, gain "buy-in from stakeholders, maintain focus/composure under pressure. 

  • Demonstrated competence in project management, including on time/budget delivery. 

  • The role requires both domestic and international travel.
