The opportunity:
Manage all activities related to occupational safety, health and environmental within the manufacturing facility and ensures that the facility is in compliance with OSHA and federal & stateRecommend and assist in the implementation of health and safety programsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations, ordinances, and laws
How you will impact WestRock:

Develop and implement programs and procedures to reduce the frequency and severity of
workplace incidents. Support a safety culture through training, risk assessments, and behavior based safety programs. Coordinate safety and environmental activities and prepare monthly EHS reports for the Plant Manager and Corporate Social Responsibility department.
What you need to succeed:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in
Occupational, Health & Safety sciences, Business, Engineering or a minimum
of 1 year in a Safety, Environmental and Health position.  Must have knowledge of applicable
federal, state, and local regulations.  Must have a thorough knowledge of
record keeping requirements for injury reporting. Must have the ability to plan, develop
and conduct training sessions and programs regarding safety issues and promotion
