We are currently recruiting for a talented, detail oriented Quality Engineer responsible for interacting closely with and providing guidance and support on quality related issue to all of Operations while managing customer complaints, and completing internal audits supporting ISO and SQF standards.  Additional responsibilities:

  • Manage Customer Complaints by responding to customer within 48 hours of receipt of complaint, close complaint within 30 days of receipt
  • Work with the customer to obtain samples and details of the issue
  • Enter complaint into the Quality Alert System and post alerts at equipment
  • Work with the departments to establish root cause and corrective actions
  • Maintain all complaint information in CPro, submit and follow up on credits
  • Maintain metrics and monthly analysis of complaints
  • Manage Internal Quality Issues
  • Work with departments to ensure all questionable material is quarantined, disposition of held material, and sorting limits (go/no-go)
  • Manage Raw Material Quality Issues
  • Communicate with departments on corrective actions implemented by the supplier
  • Maintain Quality System by maintaining all quality procedures and work instructions
  • Update iNET and Master Document Registers
  • Work with department on updating and/or creating new SOPs
  • Communicate changes to the departments
  • Assist in the training of all employees on procedures and changes to procedures
  • Sign off on all job jackets prior to jobs being run
  • Work with ink supplier to sign off on ink draw downs & departments on graphics as needed
  • Maintain Item Specification Sheets
  • Perform monthly systems audits as Lead Auditor; maintain Lead Auditor Certification
  • Audit compliance to quality system on floor such as procedures being followed, forms completed
  • Maintain SQF Certification, SQF Practitioner Certification, HACCP Certification
  • Maintain Food Safety Manual
  • Perform regular audits of compliance to standard
  • Prepare for and lead annual re-certification audit
  • Work with Reliability to maintain buildings and pest control & lawncare Company on requirements
  • Represent Quality throughout the plant in Daily DDS walks, Daily LDDS Meetings, Customer Calls, Walk the floor and interact with production teams
  • Attend Quality Planning Meetings for new material
  • Assist with CI Projects by serving on teams as needed, develop CI projects around specific repeated quality issues, Six Sigma Certification – Green Belt / Yellow Belt
  • Active member of the Training & Development Core Team assisting with creation of SOPs and training content


What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in related field preferred
  • Experience within Quality Assurance especially within the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing management software and systems, Microsoft Office software proficiency, AS400 and JD Edwards software experience a plus
