The opportunity:

WestRock Folding, Greenville, TX, has an opportunity for a Quality Manager.


How you will impact WestRock:


Help develop safety rules, procedures, and proactive measures to ensure a safe working environment.

Hold employees accountable for working within the rules and proactively identifying and removing hazards.

Report any and all near misses, incidents, first aid rendered, or unsafe working conditions to the Plant Manager and Safety Manager immediately without exception.

Responsible for the safety and well-being of self and employees


Quality Systems:

Maintain Plant Quality Management System (Complaint Pro)

Develop raw material specifications: monitor vendor compliance with established specifications.

Inspection: Reviewing and approving (pass) or disapproving (fail) raw materials COAs.

Monitor and investigate causes of nonconforming products.

Assist in developing both corrective and preventive actions.

Conduct training for all quality technicians.

Develop and carry out procedures for document and specification control.

Conduct testing as required by the customer or process control procedures.

Monitor vendor complaints, and file claims as warranted.

Work with 2nd and 3rd party auditors.

SQF Practitioner Certificate

Lead the development and implementation of Food Packaging Safety Fundamentals outlined in 4.4.2, Food Safety Plan outlined in 4.4.3 and the Food Quality Plan outlined in 4.4.4;

Oversee development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System; Take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the SQF System; and

Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System.

Validating changes to the food safety fundamentals (4.4.2) and food safety plan (4.4.3) that have an impact on the facility's ability to deliver safe food



   a.Collect samples for customer requests.

   b.Making sure all shifts are sampling.


General Duties

   a.Work with computer software: Word, Excel, Access and AS400.

   b.Monitor Leary System.

   c.Help maintain SDS’s

   d. Run and coordinate HACCP plan.

   e. Develop inspection sheets for HACCP plan.

   f. HACCP Inspections Monthly

   g. GMP Inspections Monthly

   h. Responsible for product safety and product quality, and reports product safety and product quality problems to

       Senior Management or General Manager.

   i. Backup – Safety Manager


What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree and quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Prior leadership experience and the proven ability to direct employees to meet stated work objectives

Previous experience with organizing and managing a complex, time pressured, urgent response workload

Proficient in PC based programs such as Microsoft Office

Excellent leadership, management, problem solving and decision-making skills

Thorough understanding of manufacturing systems
