Maintain the quality management system which includes updating processes and training employees as well as assisting the plant with maintaining SQF certification. Assisting the Sales Department with customer complaints and concerns while assisting the Production Department with corrective actions with these issues.

 The opportunity:

  • Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate and manages the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the quality function.
  • Defines quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Sets up and maintains controls and documentation procedures utilizing Compliant Pro.
  • Serves as liaison with customers’ and auditors to ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
  • Monitors performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  • Facilitates and validates and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.
  • Organizes and manages quality assurance functions in close cooperation with customers and Company’s Management team (Member of Core Management Team).
  • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers/facilitates training.
  • Manages and maintains the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods, evaluates, establishes and maintains approved supplier list.
  • Sets QA compliance objectives and ensures targets are achieved.
  • Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company.
  • Maintains awareness of business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
  • Willing to work flexible hours as necessary.

  • Seek out plant improvement opportunities and use the Six Sigma process to participate in or lead employee teams tasked with capitalizing on such opportunities.

What you need to succeed:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Quality Management, Paper Science, Engineering or other related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience within the paper, corrugated industry or manufacturing environment in quality and safety.
  • 2 years minimum experience in a leadership role.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Exceptional and demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Experience working with external customers and agencies.
  • Strong personal computer skills.
