HSE Manager – FSP Atlanta

The Opportunity:

The HSE Manager provides safety and health support to production and administrative personnel at FSP Atlanta, GA plant to ensure compliance with federal/state safety and environmental regulations. Develops plant specific health, safety, and environmental programs and objectives and coordinates corresponding training programs as necessary. Provides leadership and support for management team, safety pillar and sub pillar teams.

  • Maintain our Safety & Environmental Management Systems

  • Ensure safety & environmental rule compliance within all departments and shifts

  • Ensure Compliance with all applicable OSHA & EPA reporting and regulations

  • Ensure all required OSHA, EPA & Company safety & environmental training is completed

  • Ensure completion of Investigation and Corrective Actions for all incidents, near misses, and property damage.

  • Maintain and facilitate our safety and environmental information systems for data integrity

  • Perform safety training for new hires and re-training for current employees

  • Supports employees in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment

  • Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and workers compensation claims

  • Lead with a “Team Based” root cause problem solving approach

  • Lead plant in building and reinforcing a “safety first” culture across all shifts

  • Reward, recognize and celebrate accomplishments and improvements

  • Promote, track and coordinate safety engagement auditing process

  • Lead and facilitate Performance Excellence Safety Pillar meetings

  • Lead and participate in improvement projects in the facility

  • Facilitate monthly plant safety meetings

  • Member of Plant Leadership Team

  • Member of SQF / HACCP Team

  • Participate in monthly chemical audits and safety walkthroughs

  • Maintain SDS books

  • Assures container labeling follows government and company requirements.

  • Communicates all environmental issues

  • Attends required safety and environmental meetings and training.

What you need to succeed:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment

  • Outgoing and positive attitude; strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point a strong plus (will be using extensively).

  • Comfortable making presentations and speaking in public

  • 6 Sigma / Lean certification a plus

  • High School diploma. Degree or experience in a Safety Science or environmental field a plus
