Senior PeopleSoft Technical Architect – Duluth, GA

The opportunity:

  • WestRock is currently recruiting for a Senior PeopleSoft Technical Architect position, reporting to HCM Development Manager

  • The Senior PeopleSoft Technical Architect will provide senior level solution architecture, development, enhancement, maintenance and support of the PeopleSoft Systems at WestRock.  This includes enhancement and support of Core HR, NA Payroll for US and Canada, Base Benefits, Benefits Administration for Canada

  • This includes the current and active implementation of new functionalities like Fluid ESS, GSS, Smart HR templates and custom Global Payroll Interfaces

  • The ideal candidate will provide hands on guidance, direction, and solution design based on end user requirements and senior level knowledge of the PeopleSoft HCM out of the box functionality

  • The senior functional architect will collaborate with other WestRock IT teams to set priorities, provide communication, and interface to the user community in concert with the Development Manager

  • Interaction with business customers to understand and help document their business processes and requirements

  • Provide optimal and best in class solutions/design that caters to complexities of WestRock businesses and IT applications

  • Deliver latest and greatest PeopleSoft features that are mobile enabled and enhanced user experience, will directly and indirectly engage over 50,000 white collar and blue collar WestRock workforce

  • Effectively communicate throughout the organization at various forums and ability to present complex concepts clearly in easily understandable terms

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Provide expert level knowledge of PeopleSoft applications development toolset.  Preferably with additional focus on one or more functional areas – Core HR, Benefits, Benefits Administration and/or NA Payroll processes.

  • Experience developing using various PeopleSoft tools like Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, AWE, SQR, PS Query, SQL, Data Mover, Tree Manager, XML/BI Publisher, Integration Broker, Process Scheduler, Security Administration etc

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the implementation and support of new functionalities like Fluid ESS, GSS, Smart HR templates, WorkCenters, Navigation Collections, Pivot Grids, Fluid Homepages/Dashboards etc

  • Ability to solution new PeopleSoft to third party integrations or support/adopt to the current integration points such as webMethods, EDI, SAGE, CSOD, AP Data etc

  • Lead and organize the day-to-day activities for technical/development solution design in supporting the PeopleSoft application and its interfaces to other WestRock systems on various platforms.

  • Provide PeopleSoft solution architecture, design, and configuration services as required based on an in depth understanding of the PeopleSoft application toolkit and related technologies.

  • Perform requirements analysis, systems analysis and design work, creating appropriate documentation for use in estimating and specifying project work. 

  • Create detailed technical specification documents based on functional/business requirements. Work closely with the functional team and implementation managers to develop, test, and implement change requests.

  • Provide effort estimates based on understanding of user requirements for changes or enhancements to the PeopleSoft system and related interfaces.  Provide evaluation of feasibility of user requests. 

  • For maintenance, support and small enhancements, provide day-to-day prioritization and guidance to personnel bearing in mind longer-term strategies and system maintainability.

  • Communicate regularly with the user community, working with the Development Manager to set priorities, communicate status, document issues, and manage expectations.

  • Ability to quickly resolve and review day to day support issues for the business, implementation managers, and support teams.  In addition, provide training and knowledge transfer for implementation, support, and development team members.

  • Ability to work within complex project team environments; adhering to project schedules and goals.
