We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Leader for WestRock’s Consumer Packaging business.  The TA Leader establishes and implements effective talent acquisition strategies that meet the unique needs of WestRock’s Consumer business in North America. The position requires expertise and proven experience designing innovative techniques to attract hard-to-find talent in competitive markets, managing operations to include local recruiting resources, and ensuring efficient investments in both internal and external recruiting resources. The position requires strong leadership and ownership using an effective, consultative partnership with business leaders to assist in developing workforce plans and executing effective talent acquisition strategies.  The role will be based in Richmond, VA or Atlanta, GA and report to the Director, Global Talent Acquisition.


  • Develop and lead staffing strategies for key Consumer business company projects

  • Lead search strategies for highly specialized and difficult-to-attract positions. 

  • Directly and indirectly manage team members in a geographically dispersed environment including both full-time and contract resources

  • Recruit for key positions, including executive and senior leader roles, across geographies

  • Direct all talent acquisition activities including the work of agencies, retained search partners, and affiliate recruiting resources.

  • Ensure adherence to United States federal compliance requirements

  • Recruit for professional openings in technology, administration and manufacturing operations.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline

  • 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition and/or human resources

  • 8+ years of experience leading a talent acquisition function in manufacturing, paper and packaging or related industry

  • Strong technical competency with recruiting including sourcing, interviewing, and candidate assessment

  • Expertise with recruiting technology to include applicant tracking systems, social media, digital interviewing tools and on-line assessment vendors

  • Experience with MS Office tools

  • Experience in developing and reporting recruiting data and metrics that drive decision making

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining effective relationships with HR Business Partners, business leaders, and external vendors

  • Communication skills with a focus on explaining the why and presentation skills

  • Exceptional skills in talent assessment

  • Business acumen with the ability to understand and communicate market research/trends

  • Experience sourcing and attracting diverse candidate slates

  • Results-oriented with excellent follow through skills

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and use sound judgment with limited functional guidance and oversight

  • Diverse HR background with knowledge of compensation, employee relations, and training preferred

  • Professional HR certification preferred

  • Travel required –approximately 20%
