The opportunity:

 

As Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and monitoring programs to attract and retain the highest quality workforce.  As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will have direct access to hiring managers while working closely with WestRock’s HR teams building pipeline strategies to attract exceptional talent. Additionally, you will serve as a first line ambassador to candidates by filtering, screening, and actively engaging talent. We are looking for a candidate with manufacturing and engineering recruitment expertise, who will contribute creativity and thought leadership to developing the right sourcing and recruiting solutions to support the hiring agenda. How you will impact WestRock:

 

  • Utilize pipelining/direct sourcing techniques and full cycle recruiting knowledge proactively to mine resumes and engage candidates

  • Serve as an external employment market expert, advising on trends and availability of talent in identified markets, as well as hiring landscapes and recruiting practices of competitors

  • Create and implement a sourcing and recruitment strategy that will support the annual workforce plan and emphasize quality of hire, process efficiency, and candidate satisfaction

  • Evaluate skill level, conduct efficient and professional interview process, and partner closely with HR Manager on compensation, offer, background check and on-boarding

  • Analyze recruiting data and internal recruiting performance metrics to recommend improvements to recruiting strategies 

  • Partner with HR and internal business leaders to help shape the direction of WestRock’s recruiting strategy by surfacing trends and driving impactful initiatives

  • Communicate effectively with WestRock Talent Acquisition leaders, hiring managers, and interview teams to share and exchange information regarding recruiting activity

  • Manage candidates through WestRock’s hiring process, maintaining a focus on excellent candidate experience

  • Strengthen WestRock’s core staffing capabilities, address specific skill needs, and enhance the bench of talent

 

What you need to succeed:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 to 7 years of corporate recruiting in engineering, operations, or manufacturing; recruiting roles, full cycle recruiting process experience

  • Working knowledge of Federal compliance guidelines (i.e. OFCCP)

  • Proven experience recruiting and presenting diverse candidate slates to promote an inclusive workplace

  • Working knowledge of HR/TS tools and technologies and candidate tracking systems

  • Ability to sift through our internal applicant pool and help streamline the internal recruiting process

  • Ability to build relationships by phone and in-person with top tier talent and key stakeholders

  • Proven experience with partnering with hiring managers and executives throughout the recruiting cycle

  • Desire to act as an internal employee career advisor

  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Possess strong problem-solving and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be a true energizer of change with growth mindset 

  • Drive for results both tangible and intangible

  • Possess strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experience managing and developing high performing teams
