Receives payments and posts amounts paid to customer accounts.
Locates and monitors overdue accounts using computers and a variety of automated systems.
Records Credits to customer accounts based on predetermined criteria with management approval.
Records information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts.
Locates and notifies customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or email.
Confers with customers to determine reasons for overdue payments and to review the terms of sales, service, or credit contracts.
Advises customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt payment.
Persuades customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts, or non-payable checks.
Arranges for debt payment or establish payment schedules based on customers’ financial situations.
Researches and advises credit extensions when necessary.
Monitors credit holds and releases held orders once predetermined criteria is met.
Sorts and files correspondence, and performs miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering correspondence, writing reports, and recording customer contact changes.
Keeps sales representatives up to date on the collection status of their accounts.
Turns account records over to collection agency when customers fail to respond to collection attempts with Manager Approval.
Carries materials through the production area for shipment as needed.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Must have minimum one year related experience or training.
Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend complex instructions, correspondences, and memos.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Word and Excel.
Must have knowledge of office procedures and methods including, but not limited to telephone communication, office systems, and record keeping.
Must have the ability to communicate in a self-confident, professional manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment.
Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
