Sr. Manager, Finance Program Management Office (PMO) and Change Management – Atlanta, GA

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Establish the Finance PMO including governance, processes, procedures, cadence and structure.

  • Manages the development implementation of the PMO strategy and institutionalize the project life cycle methodology.

  • Defines and manages the governance processes to plan, prioritize, track, and align work efforts across all projects and initiatives.

  • Determine appropriate project management framework, apply and utilize the determined framework and provide technical leadership and guidance of the project management framework.

  • Guides and develops strategic plans related to program and project management best practices in collaboration with business, finance, and IT.

  • Establishes project portfolio status and communication reporting standards, metrics, and calculation and oversee reporting out to executive leaders and key stakeholder groups.

  • Lead highly visible and complex portfolio of programs across the finance to drive simplification, increase profitability and visibility per requirements on schedule and within budget. Primary focus on finance and supporting technology projects.

  • Creates and continually updates standard documentation templates to be utilized throughout all steps of a project lifecycle

  • Conducts needs assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of change to meet business objectives. Recommends prioritization of improvement projects to meet business objectives, enhance the member experience, consolidate efforts, and maximize use of resources.

  • Lead a high functioning group with emphasis on expertise, accountability and cross functional collaboration.

  • Collaborates with business partners, finance organization and IT for demand management, strategic scope and prioritization including identifying and analyzing needs. Manages the project intake and approval process.

  • Works with cross-functional teams to implement recommendations based on business impact and technical feasibility; leads cross-functional efforts to optimize and measure the business impact of recommended changes.

  • Resource management that identifies and confirms internal/external partners and resources to ensure successful project completion.

  • Responsible for the administration and user adoption of all project management related tools

  • Facilitates lessons learned and retrospective discussions.

  • Manages special projects upon request

  • Lead the PMO & Change Management team ensuring a high functioning group with emphasis on expertise, accountability and cross functional collaboration.

  • Lead and develop the finance organizational change management approach focusing on creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.

  • Travel as needed, 10-20%.

What you need to succeed:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting or Management Information Systems. Sound finance and accounting business acumen

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.

  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) is preferred.

  • Certified Scrum Master and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner is preferred.

  • 9 – 12+ years of progressive experience and a proven record of leading project, program and portfolio management with focus around finance and systems preferably.

  • Experience leading high functioning teams with cross functional expertise.

  • Experience working in large, complex, multi-national company.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to adapt communication and key messages to the audience.

  • Change agent with the ability to influence, lead cross functional teams and support change management rollouts.

  • Familiar with process improvement methodologies such as six sigma and value stream mapping to facilitate project team analyzes of business processes and recommended solutions. This includes conducting process mapping sessions and creating process flows.

  • Insightful and analytical leader that provides valuable observations.

  • Strategic thinker with an enterprise approach with the ability to execute tactically.

  • Problem solver with ability to breakdown complex situations and provide solutions.

  • Proactive leader that can work in fast-paced, growing, and changing environment.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects as well as an enterprise portfolio and a track record of successful project implementations with on time and budget delivery

  • Self-motivated, creative and committed to the work at hand.

  • Comfortable leading as well as executing.
