The Opportunity

We are seeking an individual with a high level of accountability, initiative, and analytical capabilities to join the Corrugated Mills Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Finance Team.  The Corrugated Mills S&OP Finance Team is responsible with forecasting all revenue outlooks for WestRock’s Corrugated Mill network and providing analytical support to drive results and business decisions. This position will work closely with sales leadership, mill finance teams, and Corrugated Segment leadership in the preparation and review of forecasts, budgets, ad-hoc analysis, periodic reports, and variance analysis.  In performing these roles, this senior analyst position will be expected to interact with numerous functional departments and with numerous management levels within the company. 

How You Will Impact WestRock

  • This highly visible role will assist in providing strategic and analytical support to the North American Corrugated Mills system
  • This Sr. analyst role will be responsible for devising and enhancing transparency, efficiency, and automation across the S&OP finance team
  • Provide analytic support to Sales leadership team as well as partner with Supply Chain and Operations Planning organizations; assist in analyzing the aggregated forecast data to be consistent with both leadership’s business view and Supply Chain’s needs
  • Support month-end reporting and monthly forecasting with analysis and related comments.  Prepare presentation materials as required
  • Work with division/segment finance teams to design/produce value-added analysis and reporting for sales leadership and senior management
  • Devise enhancements to team processes to increase forecasting accuracy and automate processes where possible, including leveraging the Alteryx automation platform
  • Work closely with the Sales team to understand their data needs and develop financial dashboards with dynamic functionality that will be a go-to source for the Sales team for results and forecast data
  • Assist with the integration of acquired operations into our existing Corrugated Segment systems and reporting structure; participate on integration teams/projects
  • Works with the pricing team and commercial finance to quantify the segment timing and impact of pricing changes and align on pricing realization assumptions for the segment


What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field required 
  • 5+ years’ work experience including some background in FP&A
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in building financial models and extracting actionable data
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to accuracy, passion for improvement, and desire to work in a team/collaborative environment
  • Strong Microsoft skills (Excel including pivot tables and building/editing queries); previous Hyperion Essbase or similar required; JD Edwards a plus
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with multiple levels in the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and perform at a high level in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently; able to quickly understand team needs and prioritize projects accordingly
