Provides project management, design, and coordination to contribute to the departmental goals of improving the production process, maintain the manufacturing facilities and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety codes. To accomplish this purpose, the incumbent is responsible for generating feasibility studies, performing engineering calculations, producing project estimates, scope of work, and schedules. The engineer will also provide engineering designs, coordinate construction work, monitor contractor’s safety, performance, and progress, to meet the mill’s engineering goals in a timely manner.

Lead teams to accurately investigate and define the problem and why change will create value.
Develop and evaluate alternates that solve the problems we face.
Investigate and define benefits of the alternates.
Develop the scope that creates the greatest values to our site and company.
Develop a design or lead the design team.
Lead a team to recommend and select equipment, consultants, and contractors to execute projects.
Estimate project costs and schedules that deliver on the scope you’ve defined.
Coordinate development of drawings and specifications.
Lead our culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and WestRock requirements.
Assist in preparation of the site’s annual capital project budgets.
Ensure Operation and Maintenance training is conducted and successfully implemented.
Oversee the design of electrical and process control systems followed by construction coordination and startup and commissioning services.
- Troubleshoot and fixing plant problems.
- Learn and understand Maintenance / Plant operations.
What you need to succeed:
3 or more years of experience in project management, engineering, and maintenance functions.
Experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of medium and low voltage electrical systems, distributed control systems (Honeywell), programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley), and drive systems is preferred.
Must be able to travel periodically. Must be capable, and a self-starter.
Multi-discipline experience in electrical, process, and mechanical engineering.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Advanced training in major project management, IEEE 70E, EZ Power, Honeywell Experion DCS, ControlLogix PLC, and Allen Bradley Drives.
Effective communication with good interpersonal relations.
Desire and potential to move into future department head status.
Able to work independently and effectively to achieve project results, and schedules while managing costs on four to five projects concurrently.
