Mechanical Packaging Systems Specialist
 Job Summary
The primary function of the Mechanical Packaging Systems Specialist is to grow Automated Packaging Systems business in assigned geographic territories by securing new machinery orders. We accomplish this by developing and implementing business strategies that will expand our client base and foster customer loyalty within the territory. The territory for position is Florida and Puerto Rico.
 How You will impact
Coordinate the use of various WestRock resources (i.e. Applications, Corrugate Sales, Engineering, Design, and Legal,) to bring value-added solutions to accounts
Identify, close, and transition new business opportunities within the region
Plan and work towards meeting sales targets
Schedule appointments, visit existing and potential customers on a weekly basis
Establish customer needs, explain, and demonstrate solutions to them
Carry out formal presentations of equipment using PPT’s, videos, corrugate samples, and other tools
Explain the equipment solution(s), and provide technical explanation including features and benefits
Develop and update knowledge of WestRock machinery and other OEM’s
Quote, revise, and negotiate prices
Prepare contracts
Provide activity reports
Attend tradeshows and conferences
What You need for Success
Minimum of 5 years successful sales experience with capital equipment in the packaging industry, preferably related to the corrugate industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or technical degree with industry experience
Solid knowledge of and experience with various types of packaging machinery and systems used in the food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods industries.
Solution seller, relationship builder, hunter mentality, detail oriented, ability to build trust
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain and build customer relationships
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude pertaining to machine applications
Ability to interface with a variety of plant personnel from different disciplines
Goal oriented and driven to become and impactful contributor to the business
Willingness to accept a challenge and inclined to take initiative
Self-managing and ability to execute sales strategies
Detail oriented, technically adept and computer proficient, i.e. experience with MS Office Products, AutoCAD viewer, etc.
Ability to travel throughout a multi-state territory 60% of time
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
Must live within close proximity to airport
