The Paper Machine Production Engineer is key member of the Paper Machine team. He/she is expected to assist the Paper Machine Supervisor and the Operations Supervisor with both day to day and long-term process improvements
How you will impact WestRock:
The engineer is expected to assist the Operations Supervisor and the Shift Foreman with both trouble-shooting both process and product quality problems.
He/she is also required to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the papermaking process and the machine. He/she is also expected to interact with the foreman and crews frequently to discuss their observations on the machine’s performance and apply this information to process improvement projects as needed.
Other responsibilities include trial coordination with product development and technical sales service, customer complaint processing, and coordination of training review for hourly staff.
What you need to succeed:
BS in engineering discipline strongly preferred
Must have analytical and diagnostic problem solving and decision-making skills
Understand the WestRock Quality policy
Must be able to lead problem solving teams and function effectively as a team member, using six sigma approach
Must be able to communicate clearly with all levels of organization
Must be able to coach hourly employees in more efficient operating techniques as well as new technology and/or equipment
