Shipping Supervisor - Rogers, AR
The primary role of a Shipping Supervisor is first to ensure a safe and clean work environment and then to lead and direct plant and off-site shipping and warehousing activities such that orders are banded, stored, and delivered according to customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes and assigns work, and monitors safety, quality and quantity of the work performed
  • Communicates department and plant goals
  • Serves as coach and counselor for department employees regarding performance
  • Schedules shipments and dock times; dispatches loads
  • Orders materials, parts, and supplies as required
  • Implements continuous improvement projects and cost reduction ideas
  • Manages trailers for optimum utilization
  • Takes and maintaining accurate inventories
  • Ensures employees perform required inspections and tests
  • Follows all safety rules and practices
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records
  • Builds department teamwork
    Minimum Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate for this position will be a team-builder, action-oriented individual
  • The ability to lead and hold people accountable
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office, JD Edwards, KIWI
  • Organized, innovative departmental Leader
     
     Related Work Experience:
  • Three to five years of shipping experience in a supervisory or management role preferred in an union environment
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Packaging industry experience (paperboard and/or corrugated) preferred
    Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent

         Technical Skills, Knowledge& Abilities:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal relations and written communication skills
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

         Budget and/or Resource Responsibilities:

  • Understand resource allocations
  • Ability to understand the basics of financial statements
