Inventory Control Associate - Norcross, GA

The opportunity:

  • An Inventory Control Associate is responsible for receiving, issuing, shipping, warehousing and accounting for IT hardware inventory. 
  • A high attention to detail is required to maintain accuracy of all downstream functions.  
  • This position is key to supporting the rest of the IT Asset Management team in its efficiency and ability to meet growing and challenging service levels.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Performs visual validation of received supplies, materials and equipment to confirm that description and package details match original purchase order specifications (e.g., quantity, condition, model number, etc.).
  • Manually picks inventory stock items, which are specified in requisition documents to issue IT equipment to WestRock employees.
  • Receives returned IT equipment and inspects to determine suitability of material for restocking or e-wasting.
  • Utilizes inventory management software (JDE and ServiceNow) to properly account for issues, returns and receipts of new inventory.
  • Conducts weekly cycle counts of inventory and reconciles and reports any count discrepancies.
  • Assists and provides back up support for IT Inventory Control Specialist. 
  • Assists in retrieval and re-imaging of terminated user computers.   
  • Assists in fulfillment of loaner and training laptop requests.
  • Keeps warehouse clean, neat and organized.
  • Insures equipment is easily located and identifiable.

What you need to succeed:

  • 2-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving.
  • Basic computer skills are required.   
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Problem solving skills and knowledge of computer hardware is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, independent individual that promotes teamwork.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar service management application would be helpful.
