Purchasing Administrator

  • To be accountable for maintaining administration processes which support the running of an effective Supply Chain
  • To communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with allinternal customers and suppliers.


Provide support to Purchasing through the following activities:

  • Raising of Purchase Orders and communicating demands to Suppliers
  • Negotiating/Expediting of Purchase Orders to ensure MPS receive material within agreed lead times
  • Dealing with Invoice Queries and discussing with suppliers and internal customers to avoid recurring issues
  • Communicating any supply issues with the relevant departments
  • Assisting Group (MPS) purchasing with any relevant on-going Purchasing exercises
  • Identifying any improvement ideas/activities within the Purchasing function to help streamline future activities
  • Review outstanding Purchase Orders
  • Weekly/Monthly report preparation and distribution
  • Maintain ERP system data Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes and Oxley)
  • Ensuring Raw Material arrives at the right time to allow MPS to manufacture the plan
  • Any other reasonable duties


Educational and professional:
5 GCSE’s including Maths and English

  • Experience of MS Office e.g. Excel, Outlook and Word 


  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment and purchasing experience essential. 
  • Sarbanes and Oxley knowledge preferred
