Inbound Coordinator - Jacksonville, FL

 

Career Opportunity:

The Inbound Coordinator is responsible for managing the inbound dock area of the mill.  This includes communicating with suppliers and corporate transportation to ensure the quality of fiber received is appropriate for the mill.  In addition, this position supervises 10 – 12 union hourly employees.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Report inventory on a daily, weekly, monthly schedule as determined by the mill by grade.
  • Communicate with supply managers concerning quality of material, loading issues, etc. as well as mill needs for the upcoming week.
  • Monitors inbound inventory of OCC has the decision-making factor to close the scale when the inventory is dangerously high and becomes a safety issue at the mill.
  • Final decision maker for rejecting loads, limiting the number of loads a supplier can ship to the mill due to quality issues, etc.
  • Responsibility for on-call duties if in the event of the following conditions occurs: machines are down, feed mix is changed, incident occurring in the inbound area involving an injury, etc.
  • Participates in conversations regarding acceptance of inbound material that falls outside of fiber specifications.
  • Ensures that moisture readings are taken on inbound loads.
  • Creates and distributes weekend schedule for various duties (housekeeping, trailers that need to be unloaded, etc.)
  • Participates in daily and weekend production meetings and communicates status of the inbound area.
  • Accountable for educating and emphasizing a positive and safe working environment for employees.
  • Evaluates and sets expectations for quality of incoming fiber and communicates to hourly teams.

What you need to succeed:

  • Associates Degree or higher in business, management, logistics or relevant major AND

  • 5 – 7 years of related experience and/or training

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and JD Edwards
