The opportunity:

The Manager, Data Management - Vendor will be a key contributor to the Procure to Pay team; will be heavily involved with data, providing process oversight, streamlining processes. This individual will work on multiple projects simultaneously, present to and communicate with key stakeholders, prioritize workload for team. 

 

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day activities of the team

  • Coordinate with P2P Process Excellence team to define SLAs / KPIs to measure team’s performance

  • Set annual targets for defined SLAs / KPIs

  • Resolve escalations of issues from the team for any add/edit requests

  • Collaborate with suppliers on enabling and improving their vendor master data

  • Develop / maintain relationships with category managers to effectively manager vendor records

  • Identify enhancements to current systems to help improve the daily operations

  • Work with PMO to prioritize technology enhancements vis-à-vis overall PTS group

  • Own the content for supplier master data assets such as JDE, vendor integration tool sets, standard reporting standards and tools, 1099/1042 analysis

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent

  • 5-7 years of relevant data management experience in the manufacturing industry

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in leading data management function

  • Extensive experience in core data management activities (e.g., understanding of data dictionaries, enforcing data standards, data quality enhancements)

  • Strong managerial and interpersonal skills

  • Committed to attention to detail and accuracy

  • Executive presence and strong communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for business improvement

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects while maintaining a firm grasp of individual project details

  • Knowledge of data management best practices, governance and tools

  • Working knowledge of J. D. Edwards ERP system is preferred but not required

  • Experience in building, mentoring and coaching a team of professionals

  • Understanding of global sourcing strategies, contract strategies and commodity management

  • Demonstrated passion for improvement and desire to work in a team/collaborative environment
