ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviews all material requirements for any new orders.
  • Creates purchase orders as necessary based on need, availability of existing stock, economic order quantities and lead time.
  • Makes adjustments to ordered quantities, and delivery dates as necessary.
  • Communicates shipping information to internal departments as appropriate.
  • Apprises management of continued forward progress as well as any areas of risk.    
  • Takes remedial steps with operational departments and suppliers to reconcile bad stock.
  • Champions cycle count activity in concert with Operations and Accounting to affect ongoing inventory accuracy.  
  • Identifies and proactively manages overstock out of the inventory mix by working in concert with Operations and Accounting.
  • Creates / manages any queries that may be needed in the enterprise system or related Excel spreadsheets necessary to effectively manage inventory.
  • Contributes to and ultimately participates in the supplier evaluation process.
  • Works with other departments to affect an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Develops and refines and documents standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field is strongly preferred. 
  • Prior experience working with inventory transactions, e.g. cycle counts, is strongly preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read and write instructions and correspondence.
  • Must have strong communication skills and must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills (email, Microsoft Excel including vlookup and pivot tables is preferred).
  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate aptitude for accuracy managing large quantities of data.
  • Must be process improvement minded and have the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
