GENERAL PURPOSE: Manage the sales and operations planning process for the division including inbound supply chain, planning and internal sales functions to ensure that customer orders and schedules are managed, processed and planned into production with the target of maximizing profitability and achieving 100% customer satisfaction whilst maintaining optimum production efficiencies through the delivery of all materials for the production process to schedule.  Manage the warehouse functions to ensure timely customer deliveries and to minimize working capital.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Participates in supplier customer partnership development to ensure the customer services function maintains a permanent and effective relationship with existing customers, thereby supporting efforts to retain customers, achieve organic growth targets and profitability.
  • Manages information on the customer base to ensure accurate forecast data is collated and utilized in forward planning and best utilization of equipment whilst monitoring response times throughout the process to ensure minimum service levels are met and continuously improved.
  • Works with the category commercial managers and rest of team to ensure margin opportunities are exploited, pricing is consistent and accurate commercial information is relayed to site and the division.
  • Manages day to day customer contact through the internal sales team.
  • Manages the Sales and Operations Planning Process to ensure that meaningful forecasts are in place to enable the business to run effectively.
  • Manages the inbound supply chain and production planning to achieve 100% Customer Service while optimizing production efficiencies.
  • Manages the warehouse function and controls stock levels to avoid customer shorts while minimizing working capital, focusing on risk taking and other opportunities that meet customers’ needs, minimize risk, and maximize margin.
  • Manages and facilitates data analysis to maximize opportunities and insure programs are working effectively.
  • Manages estimating process for effectiveness and accuracy with the aim to win business with effective production assumptions.
  • Oversees pricing management for accuracy in our invoicing and to ensure accuracy to the agreed on customer terms.
  • Interfaces with and participates in oversight of sales service function to ensure customer interface is mutually beneficial and proper information flow is in place and effective.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have 3 years (small site) to 5 years (large site) of relevant customer management experience.
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience with budget management.
  • Must demonstrate selling skills.
  • Must demonstrate communication/presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Must demonstrate customer relations skills.
  • Must demonstrate commercial/financial knowledge.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the business/manufacturing process/information systems.
  • Must demonstrate product knowledge.
  • Must demonstrate planning and forecasting skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must have experience in Continuous Improvement.
  • Must demonstrate numerical/verbal reasoning skills at management level.
  • Must be able to think analytically.
  • Must be a team worker.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be results focused.
