Sales Manager – Box On Demand – Battle Creek, Michigan

 

The opportunity:

Box On Demand by WestRock is in the unique position of being at the very front end of providing an extremely innovative solution into the large, but until now mature, corrugated box market.  With this, Box On Demand is enjoying rapid growth and is looking for highly capable, energetic individuals who see the opportunity to help drive this evolving market in a small, agile company environment.

The Sales Manager will successfully manage a sales team of 6- 12 account managers, working directly with the group to coordinate day to day sales activities and to be directly involved in closing new business deals that contribute to the company’s sales and profit objectives.

 

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Leads the company’s efforts to deliver profitable growth deals that align with the company’s objectives.  Responsible for achieving sales and assigned strategic account objectives.

  • Successfully manages a direct-sales team, identifying and improving overall performance and effectiveness of that team

  • Works day-to-day with assigned account managers to set sales activities and schedules according to priority as well as to attend and represent the company at key customer meetings in order to close deals and to drive opportunities quickly toward completion.

  • Represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned prospective customers and will participate in customer targeting and annual objective setting processes.

  • Coordinates daily activities of assigned sales account managers

  • Works with entire sales team to develop and deliver effective presentations, customer solutions and proposals.
  • Meets company annual targets for profitable growth defined primarily as new deals that are closed and contracted.
  • Involved in selling effort according to key priorities
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates prospective customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Meets assigned expectations for profitability; number and amount of new deals closed, new business volume

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales management experience in a technical business-to-business sales environment

  • Experience selling in an equipment and corresponding material supply environment a strong plus

  • Ability to manage and develop a sales force

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to manage and close new business

  • Strong selling skills combined with proven understanding and genesis of data analysis, pricing and technology

  • PC proficiency

  • Strong analytical skills

  • This position requires extensive travel.
