Rework/Finishing Supervisor

We have a permanent vacancy for a Rework/Finishing Supervisor at our Newcastle site, to support the Finishing Departmental Manager to ensure thatall production output, quality and efficiency targets are achieved within theRework/Finishing, continuously improving manufacturing efficiencies and minimising costs. The Rework/Finishing Supervisor role will incorporate all Rework and supporting the current Finishing Supervisor in Finishing.
Key Accountabilities include:

  • Provide on shift quality expertise for flatwork, red shrouds
    rework and held pallets
  • Identify improvement opportunities through observation and discussion
    with production operators
  • Monitor operator conformance through VWT checks
  • Ensure records maintained of all positive release checks and
    non-conforming product
  • Produce limits samples for red shrouds and rework
  • Feedback rejects to operators found from reworks, flatwork,
    flat pack inspection in a timely manner
  • Ensure corner sort is completed for all product cut straight
    to pallets
  • Positive release all products after flatwork, flat pack, red
    shrouds or rework activity
  • To supervise and coordinate the workload of the team in order
    to meet production demands
  • To ensure full flexibility of team to provide support to
    other areas as required
  • To appraise, develop and train staff within the team to ensure optimum
    performance is achieved
  • Supporting the Finishing Supervisor:
  1. Manage individual projects in order to deliver significant improvements to quality, cost, and delivery.
  2. Monitor process conformance in terms of audit results, process measures, and product conformity.
  3. Completion of internal and external NCR investigation in conjunction with department heads to agreed KPI’s.
  4. Implementation of continuous improvement activities and corrective and preventative actions to address quality/performance issues.
  5. Conduct speed model activities and engage operators to maximise line performance
  6. Designate personnel to machines to ensure minimum downtime and to maintain a continuous flow of work to all machines
  7. Monitor process conformance in terms of audit results, process measures, and product conformity.
