Inventory Administrative Specialist

The opportunity:

The Inventory Administrative Specialist provides administrative support to the Mesquite, TX, WestRock Star Pizza Production Manager. He/she provides administrative functions, record and data management, customer liaison, and customer requests. This position is required to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines, screen and prioritize communications from internal and external sources.  Must be able to anticipate the needs of the Production team and respond appropriately.

 

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Responsible for ordering of all inventory and non-inventory items for the TX facility

  • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual inventory counts and reporting associated

  • Complete daily cycle counts of inventory items

  • Oversee quality control for the TX facility

  • Work with production on bad quality product and submit for credits as needed

  • Enter daily production report for the TX facility

  • Complete inventory adjustments as needed

  • Serves as liaison with staff from other organization functions as well as external clients and customers.

  • Develop a good working relationship with all levels of staff in all departments

  •   Must be well organized and flexible with the ability to operate independently to complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and special projects as assigned.

  •   Must be successful at building positive relationships in a fast-paced office and deadline driven environment.

  •   Support department professionals on basic to intermediate spreadsheet analysis and other technical responsibilities as needed.

  •   Ability to interpret data and reconcile reports.

  • Manage and process all requests for quotations (RFQ’s) in a timely basis

  • Identify RFQ data omissions and discrepancies and requiring complete and corrected information from New Item Data Sheets

  • Create new item standard cost estimates and any required re-pricing of current items due to changes from original specifications / requirements in Sage or changes in manufacturing processes from those that were assumed on an earlier quote

  • Possess or strive to possess, a complete and thorough understanding of all manufacturing processes, equipment, and equipment limitations.

  • Manage e-mail and other methods for ordering and tracking raw materials.

  •  estimate and quote requests (RFQ)

  • Provide necessary feedback on completeness and accuracy of orders placed

  • Obtain tooling and farm out costs where required

 

What you need to succeed:

 

  • Candidate for this position will have a minimum of 2 years of corrugated customer service experience with responsibilities that included product inventory and/or 2+ years of analytical or business related operational experience Microsoft-Office (Very strong skills in MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 

  • Have experience using Sage, JD Edwards, internal CIS system

  • Able to use Excel as a part of daily business activity including capabilities using VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables.

  • Must have strong technical ability and excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Attention to detail in composing, typing, proofing materials and ability to establish priorities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

  • Focused, dedicated, reliable and organized with strong attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels.

  • Professional conduct and discretion exhibited at all times.

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act quickly and solve problems using sound judgment.

  • Must be able to work independently and work well under pressure

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferred in one of the following fields:  Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial engineering, or other math related discipline. Relevant work history will be strongly considered in lieu of the above desired degree
