GENERAL PURPOSE: Plans and combos work in a cost efficient manner following combo guidelines and best practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reviews sales order for accuracy of specifications and special attributes.Groups the sales orders together
to create the best job plans or combos. Checks with the Planning Manager on internal capacity of large orders.Identifies orders with special attributes that require outsourcing and then works with the outsource
team. Creates a job ticket for manufacturing.Plans the layout (manual or electronic) and calculates paper size and spoilage.Initiates the ordering of stock, ink, dies and any material required to produce the product.Communicates, as needed, with Customer Service Representatives regarding account issues.Utilizes Radius, Phoenix and JMS as needed.Manages the master layouts and works with manufacturing layout team to maintain and create the best manufacturing layouts.Performs other job duties as assigned.
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in related field is preferred. Five years of printing experience is required with strong technical background in the printing industry especially high quality sheet fed presses.Prior experience in planning is preferred. Must have knowledge in all phases of prepress, press and bindery.Must have well developed verbal and written communication capability.Must be proficient in personal computer use, including knowledge of: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel
and Microsoft Word.Must be proficient in math. Must be able to relate effectively with others at all levels of the organization. Must be reliable and dependable. Must be able to maintain good attendance. Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
