Metal Paint Line Worker – Forest City, NC

2ND SHIFT

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Metal Paint Line Worker is responsible for hanging raw metal parts on the paint line for processing in the powder coat system. Associate is required to change hooks as needed and to remove painted metal parts off the line, while verifying quality and quantity. May also assist in color change-overs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-hang raw metal parts on the paint line without product standards.

  • Change hook bars, as needed without production standards

  • Inspect parts before hanging, without production standards

  • Change paint hooks, per hook size, as needed without production standards

  • Count and record (check marks sufficient) small metal parts and powder paint containers, as needed for physical inventory

  • Rotate positions during breaks

  • Inspect painted parts for quality issues

  • Install/remove weld nut plugs and weld stud caps

  • Assist hand spraying and tank clean-up

  • Maintain housekeeping standards, including sweeping and wiping down equipment

  • Other duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience                                                       

High school diploma or GED minimum.

Language Skills                                                 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                        

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability                                                            

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills                                                

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills.

Other Qualifications

Requires the ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products.
