Career Opportunity


The Hendersonville plant is seeking a Outsource Project Manager who will be an integral part of the planning team working with other departments to secure outsourcing work from outside vendors, and communicate with vendors about schedules.  Also, to solicit pricing and delivery commitments to ensure customer expectations are met.


How you will impact WestRock


  • Contacts the outside vendors and initiates production schedule.
  • Works with production, sales, and vendors to meet ship dates
  • Negotiates non-standard work rates with vendors
  • Follows up with vendors daily on job status.
  • Facilitates schedules between outside vendors and any inside requirements (quality checks, new supplier site checks, etc.) as needed.
  • Attends daily production meeting and provides updates.
  • Follows up with vendors daily on job status.
  • Creates the transmittal to send to vendor and follows up to ensure that it has been received.
  • Schedules pick-up and delivery of materials.
  • Contacts the outside vendors and initiates production schedule.
  • Completes local vendor oks and audits.
  • Updates pricing in PO and job ticket as needed.
  • Maintains files to support work completed including shipping and receiving documents.
  • Works with customers and/or vendors on design, layout, or any other specifications on new and existing products.
  • Provides a monthly report out of Pecas on estimates vs. actual cost on each job.
  • Creates PO to vendor in Pecas including detailed instructions to vendor.
  • Creates supporting documents by gathering PO’s, layouts and job tickets to send to vendor.
  • Creates the transmittal to send to vendor and follows up to ensure that it has been received.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.


What you need to succeed


  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Must have 6 months to 1 year of related work experience.

  • Must have intermediate computer skills (email, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.).

  • Knowledge of PECAS is preferred. 

  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Must have good interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Must possess focused time management skills.

  • Must be reliable and dependable.

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.
