The opportunity: 
As the Plant Superintendent for the Calgary Plant (manufacturing corrugated paper boxes), you will use your strong leadership skills and passion for the corrugator process to meet WestRock’s expectations
for safety, quality and plant performance.
How you will impact WestRock:
Safety:  You will be responsible for plant safety including, daily and monthly reporting, training and production meetings.
Quality:  You will be responsible for training crews on production software, coach best practices, drive WestRock culture and maintain positive morale throughout the plant.
Plant Performance:  You will drive the plant through key performance indicators to include corrugator FPM, machine downtime, waste, customer returns, starch consumption, and housekeeping standards, administer discipline when needed per the contract, drive continuous improvement through innovation and team work.
Reporting: You will ensure accurate reporting via the work order system any machine issues, ensure production reporting is accurate on a daily basis, post in the plant monthly charts of measured key
performance indicators, conduct end of month inventory for raw materials and roll stock.
Administrative:  You will verify and approve timesheets and crew timecard punches; be well versed in the union contract and handle union issues and grievances; approve hourly vacations and maintain the
vacation log;  generate work orders, schedule daily run hours for plant based on production needs and post weekend work as necessary;, fill out necessary paper work for post incident investigation following an incident or injury; post job bids on union board for any vacancies or created positions; Order all supplies and raw materials for plant operation (starch, strapping, tape, etc.); reconcile daily roll stock
consumption; and interact with the scheduler for daily production needs and efficient corrugator lineup. 
What you need to succeed:
3 to 5 years leadership experience
Previous experience in a corrugated manufacturing plant a definite asset

Ability to work a flexible schedule, and occasional travel required
Previously experience in a union environment preferred
