We are a leader in value-added print and packaging solutions for the healthcare, branded consumer and multi-media markets.

Currently, we have an immediate opening for the Global Product and Category Director - Consumer Branded Packaging based in Thatcham (County of Berkshire).

As part of the Global marketing team, this role will assist in the development of the sector Marketing strategy for our packaging solutions covering Confectionery, Premium Drinks and legacy Food, Tobacco/Vaping categories as well as manage marketing programs that drive sales growth for our products. The products portfolio in scope will include paper tubes, rigid box solutions as well as folding cartons, labels and literature.

Your mission will be to optimize sales and improve the profitability of MPS business by managing and leading the decision process of what, whom, where and with which technical characteristics we are going to offer and sale.

Your responsibility span the entire product lifecycle from initial idea through to development, launch, ongoing operations and growth of the assigned portfolio. In this work, you will team up with regional commercial organizations, product development and technical teams as well as with Operations to deliver planned levels of revenue, margin, operating income & market share.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage the Value Proposition for Confectionery, Premium Drinks and legacy Food, Tobacco/Vaping
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and noncustomers
  • Act as the primary link between Global innovation, Product development and Market concepts for Consumer Branded.
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
  • Drive sales enablement by communicating the value proposition of the products to the sales teams
  • Develop and implement a Company-wide go-to-market plan for all new products, working will all departments to execute
  • Plan and execute the launch and releases of new products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the individual plans
  • Manage appropriate market research projects on customers, products, competitors and markets to establish and provide precise sector knowledge of: buying processes, key buyers and buying criteria, competitor profiles and capabilities, market potential and alternative products

Our key requirements:

  • Substantial experience in B2B sales with an emphasis on developing customer relationships with Consumer Branded Market companies
  • Firsthand know-how in B2B product and category marketing and identifying the product value proposition
  • Solid practice in developing product market strategies, successfully selling them to the organization and executing on their delivery
  • Strong organizational and project management skills gained through the work in a manufacturing environment
  • Degree, preferably in Packaging or a Marketing related field
