The Machine Maintenance Mechanic maintains machine work flow to meet due dates for assigned machines. Serve as the Lead Technician in the maintenance and production output of all Affixing Department equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Trains employees to operate equipment in the most efficient and consistent manner.
Evaluates set/make-ready for standard projects and identifies opportunities for improved efficiency and set up reduction.
Works closely with department manager on efficient work flow issues utilizing lean methodology.
Provides technical support when required for all operators.
Operates machinery to keep up with scheduled workload.
Enters accurate information into Prism system.
Reads job tickets, verifies job and part numbers match affixing mockup before loading machine.
Performs set-ups according to job specifications.
Checks register and makes necessary adjustments to produce expected output.
Monitors quality outputs, making adjustments as necessary.
Completes paperwork recording counts.
Follows the 6S principals.
Maintains machines; performs repairs as necessary.
Trains the operator utilizing good manufacturing practices.
Sets up standardized practices for all equipment for improved efficiencies.
Identifies and repairs mechanical issues.
Understands lock out tag out procedures.
Manages a preventative maintenance program.
Maintains the maintenance records for each machine.
Inspects any repairs made by operators on other shifts.
Participates in all machine related Lean initiatives.
Sustains cleanliness and organization in all machine area's using 6S principles.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum 2 years’ prior experience working with Affixing machines (Ga-Vehren, Kirk Rudy preferred).
Must be proficient with a computer related to the controls for affixing lines and camera systems.
Must have the ability to read and write instructions and correspondence in English.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
