Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Career Opportunity:

An opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is available. This role will provide direct supervision to hourly maintenance personnel within the mill.  The Supervisor ensures the safety of the workforce, provides quality and efficient execution of assigned work, monitors staff and crew performance, provides problem analysis for equipment history, submits accurate reports of work execution, takes appropriate action in response to emergencies, and administers company policies as they relate to assigned personnel.

What you need to succeed (Basic Requirements):

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 5 or more years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing industry.

    What you need to succeed (Preferred Requirements):

  • Associates degree in Engineering or 5 years of equivalent maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing industry.
  • Working experience in JDE, PassPort, SAP
  • Strong organization and communication skills with the proven ability to motivate and manage a team.

 

How you will impact WestRock (Responsibilities):

  • Administers and model’s safety in his/her area of responsibility; Participates in and supports the safety programs for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees.

  • Implement maintenance best practices and processes, including but not limited to: effective planning and scheduling, technician precision maintenance training and application of skills

  • Provide direct supervision to hourly maintenance personnel. To function as a resource of information on safety, as well as, technical related issues. Make daily safety audits. Complete daily, weekly and monthly inspections of equipment

  • Conducts training of the workforce as needed and ensures appropriate disciplinary actions are taken when deemed necessary. Insures compliance with the Union contract and company policy

  • Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to ensure that the most effective, efficient and up-to-date maintenance and repair technology and practices are used in a safe and professional manner.
